Construction
The Hotshot series of spreaders feature durable, high-density polypropylene hoppers and steel frames that are powder-coated, butt-welded, and epoxy-sealed for maximum weather and corrosion resistance. The Model 70 RD and 85 are come with carbon steel frames, while the 70 HD and 100 HD frame are made with stainless steel.
All models are equipped with a self-lubricating axle and wheel bearings/bushings for outstanding wear resistance and the ability to bear heavy loads. Additionally, each spreader is fitted with a mesh screen to break up large material chunks and minimize clogging. A standard see-through plastic cover is included to keep the material dry and free-flowing.
Distribution System
The Hotshot 70 RD, 70 HD have a spread range of 0-12 feet, while the Hotshot 100 boasts a range of up to 18 feet, and all feature an easily removeable deflector shield to help concentrate material spread. The Hotshot 85 has a spread of up to 10 feet, but does not feature the deflector shield.
Hotshot spreaders offer convenient controls tailored to suit various spreading needs. The Models 70 HD and 100 HD are equipped with dial controls, allowing a precise amount of material flow, and feature a handle-mounted on/off mechanism for straightforward operation.
The Model 70 RD features a push-button control integrated into its T-handle to quickly shut off material flow as needed, while the Model 85 U-shaped handle includes a shift-type cut-off lever.
Tires
Hotshot spreaders come with heavy-duty pneumatic tires designed to tackle terrain with ease, on or off pavement. The Hotshot 70 RD and 70 HD are equipped with 10-inch diameter tires, while the Hotshot 100 features 13-inch tires , offering increased load-bearing capacity and improved maneuverability over uneven surfaces.
The Hotshot 70-series and 100 boast a gear-assisted axle with self-lubricating bearings/bushings, ensuring smooth operation in diverse conditions. Crafted from heavy-duty Nylatron GS impregnated with Teflon®, the greaseless gears provide durability and reliability throughout the year.
The Hotshot 85 also features 10-inch pneumatic tires similar to the 70-series spreaders, providing excellent traction and maneuverability. While it doesn't include the gear-assisted features found in other spreaders, the Hotshot 85 remains a reliable choice for needing a budget-friendly yet dependable spreader.
