Schmidt Sweepers Worked Like Champions at ESAF 2019

A weekend with more than 420,000 visitors coming together in Switzerland can only mean one thing: ESAF – the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival. The traditional event is held every three years and is THE major event for Swiss wrestling. The best wrestlers from around Switzerland come together and battle it out over two days for the victory wreath. Last weekend, the town of Zug in central Switzerland played host to ESAF 2019. The excitement wasn’t limited to the 70-hectare event site – there was also lots going on throughout the old town and around the station from Friday through to Sunday, meaning there was plenty of action when it came to street cleaning too. To cover the increased cleaning requirements, the organiser deployed three additional Schmidt compact sweepers.
At 10 pm, when the visitors slowly started to make their way home, the night shift began for the sweepers. Dawn at 5:30 am would see the festival tents and refreshment stands around the arena open again, and all traces of the previous day needed to be cleared away before then. The three-strong team with 5 m3 and 2 m3 hoppers did an outstanding job. Their excellent suction performance and proven wet cleaning tackled even the toughest dirt. And when Christian Stuck secured the title on Sunday evening after only 42 seconds, the Cleango and Swingo sweepers were already on the starting line once again – cleaning up what others leave behind like true champions.
