Aebi Schmidt and HRLC join forces and start to provide customised solutions for a wider range of airport customers in China. Following the principle of «Based in China, Serving China» customers now profit from sweepers and spreaders specifically designed for Chinese airports and based on Chinese-made truck chassis. Today, the new workshop and office buildings in the Fangshan District have been officially opened.

As one of the leading commercial truck upfitters in the country, Monroe Truck Equipment has eight locations across the USA, with the most recently acquired one located in Kernersville, North Carolina. But late last year, it became clear that they had rapidly outgrown the current facility in Kernersville and needed to make a strategic move to a new campus that could accommodate the business this new location brought in. In fact, the commercial upfitting business is a huge industry. A lot of us might see and notice vehicles produced from this industry on a daily basis but never knew the official name for it. We see larger municipal dump trucks and plow trucks on the road frequently, clearing snow in winter and hauling materials or doing roadwork in the summer, but what about those smaller work trucks that don’t need a specialized license to drive and operate?

CH-Frauenfeld, July 26, 2023 – The Aebi Schmidt Group acquired on July 24, 2023 the Snow Products Business of Oshkosh Corporation, based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin (USA) and will integrate this business into its subsidiary M-B Companies, Inc. based in Chilton, Wisconsin (USA).

Our close, longstanding partnerships with airports all over the world have taught us a great deal, not least that the needs of every airport are different. Of all the production lines within the group, airport equipment requires a particularly wide variety of custom designs. We take a look behind the scenes.

Every country and region has its own challenges when it comes to fighting icy roads. However, the, safety of road users as well as drivers of winter maintenance vehicles is the first priority everywhere in the world. In many places today, the requirement to use vehicles and spreading materials in the most resource-saving way possible immediately follows in second place. CH-Frauenfeld, November 17, 2021 – Aebi Schmidt Group, a global leader of intelligent solutions for the treatment of mission critical infrastructure areas and demanding terrain, today announced an agreement to acquire Monroe Truck Equipment from its current owner Industrial Opportunity Partners. Wisconsin, U.S.-based Monroe is an industry-leading truck and trailer equipment platform with around USD 270 million (approx. EUR 240 million) in annual revenue. The addition of Monroe will significantly strengthen Aebi Schmidt’s market position in the U.S. and globally, boosting the Group’s prospects for future growth.

Today marks the grand opening of new and expanded manufacturing and production facilities, as well as Aebi Schmidt Group’s North American corporate offices. Less than one year following the groundbreaking on the 86,500 sq. ft. buildout, the expanded facility will now support enhanced process innovation for existing and new product lines, as well as provide opportunities for more jobs in and around the Chilton area. Frauenfeld, September 8, 2020 – The Swiss-based Aebi Schmidt Group has acquired the leading Canadian manufacturer of winter maintenance equipment, Equipements Lourds Papineau Inc. (ELP). This acquisition further strengthens the Aebi Schmidt Group’s market position/presence in North America.

Frauenfeld, February 18, 2020 – The Swiss-based Aebi Schmidt Group has acquired the leading Finnish manufacturer of road maintenance vehicles and equipment, Arctic Machine Oy. This acquisition further strengthens Aebi Schmidt Group's market position in Northern and Eastern Europe.

Turnover in 2023 rose organically by 11 per cent to a new record high of EUR 935 million. The EBIT margin increased even stronger to 70 million euros or 7.5 per cent. The new year also got off to a very promising start.

Performing thorough maintenance work is essential in order to ensure operational readiness at all times. It might sound perfectly reasonable and simple, but doing this is becoming increasingly taxing. The more complex the fleet and the more modern the technology, the higher the demands on the staff. And what should you do when maintenance work is pending, but staff are busy with other tasks?

The noiseless and carbon-free cleaning Schmidt eSwingo 200⁺ is proving popular with local authorities and as well as with industry experts. The eSwingo has won the Award for Excellence in Innovation at this year’s RWM and Let’s Recycle show in Birmingham (UK).

While an Aebi Combicut was previously made on individual islands, today everything flows together. The Combicut line in Burgdorf now works according to the ‘lean production’ principle. This means that interim storage has been done away with and any kind of fluctuations can largely be minimised. The promise to deliver a Combicut model within six weeks still stands. But the new way of organising production makes things much more stress-free at the plant – while achieving greater capacity at the same time.

Bundesbeschaffung GmbH now also has the Schmidt Flexigo 150 in its range. The smallest all-rounder from the Schmidt sweeper family is distinguished by its comfortable articulated steering and high payload, among other features. It effortlessly cleans streets, pavements, pedestrian zones and narrow alleys. It is also flexible in terms of personnel deployment: it can be driven with an EU class B driving licence.

CH-Frauenfeld, March 25, 2021 – The Aebi Schmidt Group reports good annual results for 2020 – especially in terms of profitability. While its turnover of EUR 466 million was 9% below the previous year (EUR 516 million), the operating profit was at almost the same level as the previous year – a satisfactory performance given the economic situation. The Group ended the 2020 financial year with a higher net profit than the previous year. Globally, the Aebi Schmidt Group maintained its market share and in some countries even expanded it.

With a modest ground breaking event on August 21, 2020, Aebi Schmidt North America officially announced the expansion of their manufacturing facility and offices in Chilton, Wisconsin. The expansion of 70,000 square feet will increase capacity for existing as well as additional Aebi Schmidt products and office facilities.

The fluctuating cost of salt and the long-lasting effects of its shortages combined with its corrosive damage to infrastructure and clean up costs necessitates smarter solutions. Solutions that reduce the total salt needed, increase efficiencies and cause less environmental damage while keeping the roads safe. Frauenfeld, April 4, 2019 – The ASH Group is now called the Aebi Schmidt Group. The company has been operating under the new group name and with unified product logos for its individual brands since March 2019. The new brand identity highlights the ambitious growth plans that the Aebi Schmidt Group is pursuing. In the 2018 financial year, the Group showed substantial growth and increased profitability with sales rising to well over EUR 400 million.

Frauenfeld, September 27, 2018 – Gerhard Neudorfer has been appointed CCO Sales Europe and a member of Aebi Schmidt Holding’s Management Board as of October 1, 2018. He will succeed Christian Stryffeler, who has decided to leave the company.

Aebi Schmidt Holding AG (ASH), a Switzerland-based leading provider of product systems and services for the cleaning and maintenance of traffic areas and green spaces, has acquired M-B Companies (MBC), a leading US manufacturer of snow removal and cleaning machines in the airport sector. The ASH Group has thereby gained a foothold in the North American airport market and expanded its global position in this sector.

The 2nd year of his training included a visit to the Kielce factory site in Poland, the competence centre for the production of snow ploughs and round brushes for our Schmidt sweepers. He now recounts his experiences himself:

NEW OFFICE IN BEIJING SETS COURSE FOR FURTHER GROWTH OF THE BRANDS AEBI AND SCHMIDT ON THE ASIAN CONTINENT The ASH Group expands their global presence with the opening of a new office in China on 1st June 2016 and sets course for the growth course in the Asia-Pacific region. An experienced team will serve customers from Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand from the bureau in Beijing.

CONTINUING TO EXPAND MARKET LEADERSHIP WITH 177 YEARS OF COMBINED EXPERIENCE IN WINTER ROAD MAINTENANCE The Norwegian plough manufacturer Tellefsdal AS, which is based in Sundebru, has been fully owned by the ASH Group, which is based in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, since 1 January 2016 and so now strengthens the winter road maintenance expertise of the internationally operating corporate group, which also includes the Schmidt brand. Back in 2013, Aebi Schmidt Holding AG acquired 50% of the company Tellefsdal, which has a strong tradition. The final part of the agreed takeover has now been completed with this full integration. This step represents a major boost to the expertise of the ASH Group, which welcomed 42 new colleagues at its site in Sundebru on 1 January. All colleagues will work together to further expand the winter road maintenance equipment area of the business and exploit the newly created synergies. The current management team will continue to remain in charge of production operations at the Tellefsdal factory. The staff working in the areas of sales and after sales will in future provide support to regional customers through the newly structured sales company Aebi Schmidt Norge AS.
