On Sunday, 17.11.2019, the family day for the employees of Hall 1 took place at the Sankt Blasien (DE) plant. The large equipment produced here, which includes the sweepers, jet sweepers and self-propelled snow blowers of the Schmidt brand, then find their use on traffic areas all over the world. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., all employees from Hall 1, together with their family members and friends, were able to explore the various departments in a relaxed atmosphere and demonstrate their personal workplaces in the paint shop, electrical workshop, hydraulics department, vehicle conversion, pre-assembly and, of course, on the two assembly lines of the large-scale machines.
A special highlight were, of course, the machines. Whether Supra 4002, AS 990, TJS, CJS or Street King 660 - on this Sunday, visitors were able to see every type of vehicle produced on the assembly lines up close. Since most of the large machines produced here are used for snow clearance and cleaning at airports, one does not otherwise get to see these products so often.
The complete conversion series from the completely dismantled truck to the finished product in the final inspection allowed deep insights into the extensive technology. To close the circle, film footage was used to show how the finished products function in use at the customer's premises after leaving the factory.
This unusual tour through the various work stations met with great interest among the approximately 150 visitors and employees. Certainly, the family members at home will now have a much more vivid picture when our employees tell about their activities at Aebi Schmidt.
