Summer has arrived, and with it, the influx of beachgoers. Unlike city streets, where sweepers can tidy up after a busy day, beaches require a unique approach to cleaning. Our mission is to improve the performance of our customers, and we are thrilled to introduce the Aebi TT 241⁺ tractor to the beautiful island of Formentera, specifically designed for beach cleaning.

You can't reinvent the wheel?! This does not apply to our new double wheel system. Aebi offers a new, innovative double wheel concept for the Combicut motorised mowers in the large series. After a one-time pre-installation, the new system allows dual wheels to be attached in just a few seconds and removed again, for example for transporting the single axle machine.

Europe's largest outdoor exhibition is back after a 4-year break - Demopark attracted over 33,000 visitors to the airfield in Eisenach-Kindel from 18 - 20 June. On the 25-hectare exhibition area, national and international guests from the municipal technology sector met 400 exhibitors. Aebi Schmidt Germany was right in the middle of it and showed novelties such as the fully electric Schmidt eCleango 550 sweeper and the motor mower Aebi CC 140e.

In the current year, we’re celebrating special anniversaries on all different Aebi production lines. In a loose series, we’ll will show you where the vehicles are going and how they are being used. Today, we start with the 15,000th Terratrac, which was delivered to Michael and Brigitte Schmid in Terenten in South Tyrol.

As we have previously reported, we are currently working with the town of Burgdorf, Switzerland, to test the suitability of our eVT 450 prototypes for everyday use. Our claim for the vehicles when they eventually enter series production is that no compromises need to be made in their use or when it comes to attachments and mounted equipment on the electric model. Yesterday, we had the pleasure to hand over a fully electric Aebi eVT450 transporter to the town of Burgdorf (Switzerland). In cooperation with the city’s construction department, we are now testing its suitability for everyday use in the coming months. The aim is clearly to ensure that no compromises have to be made with the electric model, neither in terms of use nor in terms of attachments. The experience gained from the practical use will directly influence the development of the series model.

TWO CLEANGO 500 SWEEPERS KEEP LUCERNE’S ROADS CLEAN Carnival in Lucerne is a one-of-a-kind spectacle. The historical town on the banks of Lake Lucerne transforms into a bubbling cauldron of jesters and clowns. As one of the largest Carnival events in Switzerland, the annual festival welcomes up to 40,000 visitors to the narrow alleys of the old town. It’s the time to shine for the ‘Putzüüfeli’ (‘little cleaning beasts’), as the sweepers here are affectionately called. Together with four other sweepers from the Swingo series, these two monsters in the 4 m³ class from Aebi Schmidt took the rear of the parades on Fat Thursday and Carnival Monday. Up to 110 tonnes of refuse and confetti were sucked up by the machines over the five days of Carnival.

This makes mowing work at slow speeds, for example, child's play - even at 100 metres per hour, the Aebi MT travels smoothly and steplessly. That said, does every farm really need its own implement carrier, often with the same attachments in each case? The answer is generally both yes and no. Bundesbeschaffung GmbH now also has the Schmidt Flexigo 150 in its range. The smallest all-rounder from the Schmidt sweeper family is distinguished by its comfortable articulated steering and high payload, among other features. It effortlessly cleans streets, pavements, pedestrian zones and narrow alleys. It is also flexible in terms of personnel deployment: it can be driven with an EU class B driving licence.

The new Aebi loaders make forage harvesting easier and more efficient. Thanks to the increased loading volume, the best ground hugging of the pick-up, as well as the largest raking width, wide and voluminous swaths of forage can be picked up quickly. The up to 19 knives can be locked centrally with just one hand movement, which ensures fast and safe installation. The new loaders are available in four sizes.

Since the beginning of the year, an fully electric driven Aebi eVT450 prototype has been driving in Stoos (Switzerland). Driving cheaper, emission-free and without compromising performance in agriculture as well as in private and public services is one thing. The other is to ensure that the electricity comes sufficiently and constantly out of the socket. Energy companies are working on this every day. All applications require large payloads and individual equipment options, both electrically and conventionally driven.

Terratrac in action at Lenzerheide Golf Club (CH) Maintenance of the grass on a golf course is (almost) a science in its own right. No wonder then that Simon (‘Simi’) Stalder, Head Greenkeeper at Lenzerheide Golf Club in Switzerland, employs a team of 5½ people. From March until well into the autumn, everything revolves around creating the perfect green. From 2020, this will be done with the added support of an Aebi TT 211.

Aebi at the World Cup race on the Lauberhorn When a myth is created between Hundschopf and Ziel-S on the Lauberhorn in Wengen, Switzerland, many helping hands are needed. The piste and construction work will begin as early as September. By the first race on Friday, 18 January 2019, more than 500 people will have worked on the downhill run and 230 tonnes of material for the grandstand and marquee will have been installed on the Wengeneralp alone. The goal of those responsible around race director Robert Lehmann: the race must be one of the most difficult in the World Cup calendar in order to do justice to the myth of the Lauberhorn, the longest ski race course in the world.
