ASH Group stregthens Winter Road Maintenance expertise with Norwegian Plough Manufacturer Tellefsdal

CONTINUING TO EXPAND MARKET LEADERSHIP WITH 177 YEARS OF COMBINED EXPERIENCE IN WINTER ROAD MAINTENANCE

The Norwegian plough manufacturer Tellefsdal AS, which is based in Sundebru, has been fully owned by the ASH Group, which is based in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, since 1 January 2016 and so now strengthens the winter road maintenance expertise of the internationally operating corporate group, which also includes the Schmidt brand. Back in 2013, Aebi Schmidt Holding AG acquired 50% of the company Tellefsdal, which has a strong tradition. The final part of the agreed takeover has now been completed with this full integration. This step represents a major boost to the expertise of the ASH Group, which welcomed 42 new colleagues at its site in Sundebru on 1 January. All colleagues will work together to further expand the winter road maintenance equipment area of the business and exploit the newly created synergies. The current management team will continue to remain in charge of production operations at the Tellefsdal factory. The staff working in the areas of sales and after sales will in future provide support to regional customers through the newly structured sales company Aebi Schmidt Norge AS.

The integration into the ASH Group is welcomed in Sundebru. “As part of a corporate group that plays a leading role on the international stage, we will be able to expand our success and our technological leadership in the Scandinavian market even further in the future,” so the management board of Tellefsdal. “Our many decades of expertise in snow plough construction and our established product range, along with a comprehensive range of services and innovative winter road maintenance technologies from Schmidt, will offer new added value for our customers. As an independent brand within the ASH Group, we will also be able to continue to guarantee supreme quality Made in Norway and the close contact with our customers that they have become accustomed to, based on the notion of ‘business as usual, just better’.”

Since Tellefsdal was founded in 1933, it has been renowned for its excellent know-how when it comes to snow clearance and it enjoys an outstanding reputation which also extends beyond the borders of Norway. As a “snow scientist”, the company has dedicated itself to meeting the high demands of its customers and the particular needs of the Scandinavian market for winter road maintenance services.

Founded in 1920, Schmidt’s home is the town of St. Blasien in Germany but it also has factories in Holland and Poland. The name Schmidt has been synonymous for almost 100 years with surface safety in all areas of transport. As well as providing a variety of solutions in the field of winter road maintenance technology, the extensive product range also comprises summer road maintenance equipment such as road sweepers or street cleansing vehicles, vehicle and rail technology, as well as highly specialised equipment for cleaning and clearing snow from airport aprons and runways.
