Then, at the end of its life, it was retired to a shed where it sat for years, gathering rust and dust. Like many pieces of old equipment, it seemed like this sander was doomed to be forgotten, maybe eventually making its way to a scrapyard or recycling facility.
But then, around 9 years ago, it was found again! Now considered an antique and a bit neglected, it wouldn’t be able to be used again as a piece of functional equipment. Instead, it was donated back to Swenson where it was refurbished with new parts and a brand new powder coat paint finish in that iconic Swenson orange.
The sander now sits proudly on display in the Swenson manufacturing facility’s showroom, and it was even featured in a local Lindenwood parade at the time of its refurbishment. We're glad that this little piece of history found new life and a happy ending, and that it can be enjoyed by all who visit Swenson!
