London Luton Airport (LLA) has added a self-propelled snow-cutter blower and a highly versatile implement carrier to its fleet. Being well prepared and ready for every eventuality, was the missing piece to the puzzle which is now completed to ensure effective and efficient summer and winter maintenance on the airport. Here’s more about the rationale.

After a break of several years due to Corona, finally Aebi Schmidt Austria again invited to the Sweeping and Municipal Day at the Austrian headquarters in Inzing. Representatives of more than thirty municipalities and service providers accepted the invitation and were able to see for themselves the advantages of the machines and equipment in practical use. The Flexigo, listed with the BBG, was of particular interest - but not only!

As we have previously reported, we are currently working with the town of Burgdorf, Switzerland, to test the suitability of our eVT 450 prototypes for everyday use. In autumn 2020, the Aebi Schmidt Group acquired the Canadian company Equipements Lourds Papineau Inc. (ELP) – an acquisition continuing the consistent implementation of the group’s growth strategy, as ELP is a leading manufacturer of winter operation equipment in Quebec. Now – somewhat later than planned, due to the coronavirus – the sales and service staff of Aebi Schmidt Canada Inc. and ELP are getting to know one another in person during training for the introduction of the Street King 660 to Canada.

The Schmidt MSH towed sweeper is one of the most popular machines in the range of Bengt Bergs Maskinservice AB in Partille, a suburb of Gothenburg in Sweden. Small and compact, easy to operate and extremely manoeuvrable, it is popular for use in tight spaces in densely populated residential and urban areas – not least because of its low noise level.

The fleet run by the Kriens public works office includes three generations of transporters from the Aebi VT 450 series. Most recently, it added a new Aebi VT 450 Vario Euro 6C to its fleet in 2018. The trio of transporters is put to use year-round – in applications involving everything from winter maintenance to green space maintenance.

TWO CLEANGO 500 SWEEPERS KEEP LUCERNE’S ROADS CLEAN Carnival in Lucerne is a one-of-a-kind spectacle. The historical town on the banks of Lake Lucerne transforms into a bubbling cauldron of jesters and clowns. As one of the largest Carnival events in Switzerland, the annual festival welcomes up to 40,000 visitors to the narrow alleys of the old town. It’s the time to shine for the ‘Putzüüfeli’ (‘little cleaning beasts’), as the sweepers here are affectionately called. Together with four other sweepers from the Swingo series, these two monsters in the 4 m³ class from Aebi Schmidt took the rear of the parades on Fat Thursday and Carnival Monday. Up to 110 tonnes of refuse and confetti were sucked up by the machines over the five days of Carnival.

The state of Tyrol is responsible for a total of 2,236 km of road network, with the state roads lying at 470 to over 2,000 metres above sea level. The state authorities have been utilising salt and brine for their winter services since 2017. To do this, they use a Schmidt Stratos Combi Soliq Flex, a combined machine that spreads or sprays with abrasive agents, dry salt or wet salt containing the required proportion of brine. They have recently started using ‘the spreader’ in summer as well.

With its "Madrid 360" programme, the Spanish capital is pursuing the goal of becoming a sustainable city or so-called environmental zone by 2025. It wants to achieve this with a variety of measures. One of them is that the leaves collected now in autumn are brought to a composting plant to be used later as fertiliser for the more than 3.000 parks in the city.

The Aebi VT 450 is the latest addition to the N.U.P Umweltpflegetechnik fleet – just in time for summer! Over the last 20 years, the company has built a name for itself as a specialist in nature and environmental care technology. An Aebi VT 450 Vario with an Aebi LD 42 loader and an additional three-way tipper is the latest addition to the fleet.

The new Aebi TP410, which will be presented at the AGRAMA agricultural technology exhibition in Bern from 29 November to 3 December, finally completes the Aebi family of transporters. The successor to the TP48P impresses with its Kubota turbo diesel engine, the lowest tare weight in its class, outstanding manoeuvrability and Aebi’s customary simple operation. Of course, the TP410 also provides the highest level of operational safety and is at home on any terrain – in other words, it’s a typical Aebi transporter.

AEBI PRESENTS INNOVATIONS FOR THE TRANSPORTER RANGE AT AGRITECHNICA Aebi will be presenting two new innovations for the Transporter range at the Agritechnica trade fair from 12 to 18 November in Hanover. The top model, the Aebi VT450 Vario and the Aebi TP420, comply with EU Regulation 167/2013 and meet the latest emission figures with the new EURO 6C engine. Also new are the panoramic cab and the completely new and simplified operating concept.

London Stansted Airport, a member of the Manchester Airport Group, has added a new Schmidt combination sweeper to its airside sweeping and scrubbing fleet. Based on a 250 HP Scania chassis and a Schmidt ASC 990 high speed sweeping and scrubbing vehicle, the truck now joins twelve other Schmidt snow removal machines – six jet sweeper tractor units, three runway de-icers, two snow clearing units, one multifunctional sweeper and scrubbing machine – currently in service at London Stansted.
