Succesful Trade Fair presence of the ASH Group at the IFAT

The anniversary edition of the IFAT held in Munich from 30 May to 3 June 2016 was attended by as many as 138,000 visitors from more than 170 countries – more than ever before. There was also a lot of hustle and bustle at the fair stand of the ASH Group on the outdoor fairground. A wide range of vehicles and equipment awaited the international visitors – true to the motto “everything from a single source”. The summer maintenance area comprising sweepers and carrier vehicles was just a few steps away from the winter maintenance area, where snow ploughs of the Tellefsdal and Meyer brands, which have been part of the ASH Group since 2015, were showcased for the first time at this year’s IFAT alongside Schmidt spreaders and snow ploughs.

The visitors also had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the digital world at the TouchPoint or via an app on the tablet, including a 3D animation explaining the highly specialised technology integrated in a Swingo sweeper and why it is so efficient.

The management of the ASH Group looks back on the past trade fair days with great satisfaction: The highlight was certainly the presentation of the Schmidt Street King 660, a powerful truck-mounted sweeper with a hopper capacity of 7 m3, which stands out with significantly enhanced performance, maximum efficiency and an innovative operating concept. Many visitors were particularly interested in the flow-optimised suction fan fitted directly on the hopper, generating high suction performance even at low fan speed thanks to the suction nozzle with integrated brush roller – with the operating speed being up to 15% higher compared to other models. The Schmidt Swingo 200+ compact sweeper with Koanda air circulation system and the Schmidt Cityjet 3000, a hot-water street washer, also met with great interest.

“We are aware that today’s requirements in municipalities go far beyond the mere cleaning performance. Factors such as efficiency, low noise level, particulate emissions or low maintenance costs have become just as essential when purchasing new equipment. Therefore, we not only offer our customers efficient technology, but also accommodate their economic and ecological needs with our equipment”, says Rudi Rosenkamp, CCO of ASH Group.

On the second day of the trade fair, the representatives of the Schmidt Division experienced another pleasing highlight. VAK e.V., the Municipal Vehicles and Equipment Industry Association, presented an innovation award for municipal vehicles and equipment for the first time on the occasion of the IFAT 2016. The combination of pressurised water recirculation and Koanda air circulation system of the Swingo 200+ convinced the panel of judges consisting of members of user associations as well as press and university representatives. The presented innovation reduces the emission of harmful particulate matter during sweeping operations by up to 95%, making the Swingo 200+ the most eco-friendly compact sweeper in the market. “We are delighted to have received the VAK award and congratulate our colleagues from the development department on this technical masterpiece”, Rudi Rosenkamp says. “The Koanda air circulation system and the new, intuitive control lever are more than just innovations to us – they are important milestones in continuing to maintain our role as trailblazers in the future. In 2015, we were able to once again strengthen our market leadership in the class of compact sweepers. Our customers’ trust in us fills us with pride and encourages us in our work and our vision. We are on a clear track in the truest sense of the world.”
