23 Years of Partnership Between W.A. Jones and Monroe Truck Equipment
W.A. Jones has been in business since 1880, starting off as a cattle and fur trading company that has grown and evolved into the truck equipment powerhouse it is today. In 2001, W.A. Jones joined forces with Monroe Truck Equipment as a distributor of Monroeâs complete line of municipal snow and ice equipment, and since then, that partnership has only grown stronger as the years have gone by. Monroeâs Commercial Division makes a move to Winston-Salem
As one of the leading commercial truck upfitters in the country, Monroe Truck Equipment has eight locations across the USA, with the most recently acquired one located in Kernersville, North Carolina. But late last year, it became clear that they had rapidly outgrown the current facility in Kernersville and needed to make a strategic move to a new campus that could accommodate the business this new location brought in. In fact, the commercial upfitting business is a huge industry. A lot of us might see and notice vehicles produced from this industry on a daily basis but never knew the official name for it. We see larger municipal dump trucks and plow trucks on the road frequently, clearing snow in winter and hauling materials or doing roadwork in the summer, but what about those smaller work trucks that donât need a specialized license to drive and operate?
«Right-sizing» helps customers to manage different challenges at once while reducing cost
Municipal leaders face a number of challenges when it comes to investing in truck equipment. Between labor shortages, terrain challenges, and budgeting - there are a lot of factors to consider and plenty of priorities to juggle. Monroe supports municipal partners by designing vehicles that can be used year round, with minimal effort to adjust season to season. This fleet approach, called right-sizing, helps customers manage environmental and labor challenges - all while staying in budget by reducing the total cost of your fleet.
